Z type sheet piles are produced in the shape of Z letter, which is normally driven in crimped or welded doubles. It has a continuous, symmetrical interlock on both sides of the neutral axis. Both aspects have a positive influence on the sections, as they are located at a considerable distance from the neutral axis. This ensures and increase in strength for a wide variety of applications. Z sheet piles are more widely used than U profiled in port construction or deep foundation because Z profile can have a bigger modulus and can be used as intermediary piles for tubular and HZ combined wall.
