Three Phase Decanter Centrifuge for Slaughterhouse Meat Oily
Slaughterhouse & Meat Oily Wastewater Tricanter is designed for continuous three-phase separation of animal fat, water, and solid residues from oily wastewater and scum streams.
For most slaughterhouse and meat processing applications, the recommended configuration is a three-phase tricanter centrifuge because the feed usually contains oil/fat, water, and solid residue at the same time.
- Slaughterhouse floating scum treatment
- Meat processing oily wastewater
- Poultry processing oily residue
- Seafood processing oily sludge
- Aquatic processing oily residue separation
- Animal fat recovery from DAF scum
- Oily organic residue separation in food factories
Typical materials include animal fat, grease, fish oil, water, blood residue, meat particles, fish residue, fine solids, protein flocs, and floating scum.
- The feed contains animal oil/fat, water, and solid residue.
- The process target includes both fat recovery and wastewater load reduction.
- Three separate outlets allow oil, water, and solids to be discharged independently.
- If the feed contains mainly solids and water with very low oil content.
- If the oil is strongly emulsified and no heating or conditioning is used.
- If the feed contains large bones, plastics, or hard impurities without screening.
- Oily wastewater or DAF scum enters the rotating bowl through the feed pipe.
- Under centrifugal force, heavier solids move outward and form a sediment layer.
- The screw conveyor continuously pushes the separated solids toward the discharge end.
- The heavy liquid phase, mainly water, is discharged through the water outlet.
- The light liquid phase, mainly recovered animal fat, is discharged separately through the oil outlet.

| Item | Typical Range / What to Confirm |
|---|---|
| Feed material | Slaughterhouse scum, meat oily wastewater, poultry oily residue, seafood oily sludge |
| Solids content | Usually 2–15% |
| Oil / fat content | Usually 5–30%, depending on scum concentration |
| Particle characteristics | Sticky, greasy, organic, protein-rich, fine solids |
| Viscosity | Medium to high; reduced by heating |
| Temperature | Recommended 50–80°C for better fat separation |
| Corrosion risk | Medium; confirm chloride, cleaning chemicals, pH |
| Capacity requirement | Confirm by m³/h or tons/day |
| Target result | Fat recovery, lower oil in water, reduced residue volume, odor control |
- Continuous automatic operation
- Simultaneous separation of oil, water, and solids
- Higher animal fat recovery value
- Lower oil load in wastewater
- Reduced floating scum volume
- Better odor control from oily organic residues
- Suitable for variable scum and oily wastewater conditions
- Optional heating and anti-clogging configuration
With proper screening, DAF scum collection, heating, and stable feeding, this tricanter centrifuge can typically achieve:
- 80–95% animal fat recovery rate
- 60–90% oil reduction in water phase
- 70–90% suspended solids reduction
- 20–35% cake solids content
- 65–80% final cake moisture
- 30–60% oily residue volume reduction
- 16–24 hours/day continuous operation
Actual results depend on oil content, emulsion level, heating temperature, solids content, and feed stability. Pilot testing is recommended when scum composition changes frequently.
Why use a three-phase tricanter for slaughterhouse oily wastewater?
Because the feed usually contains animal fat, water, and solid residue. A three-phase tricanter can separate all three phases continuously.
Is heating required?
Usually yes. Heating to around 50–80°C helps reduce fat viscosity and improves oil-water-solid separation.
Is DAF scum suitable for this machine?
Yes. DAF scum from slaughterhouse or meat processing wastewater is one of the typical feed materials, but stable collection and homogenization are recommended.
What information is needed for model selection?
Please provide feed type, capacity, oil content, solids content, temperature, emulsion condition, target fat recovery rate, and operating hours.
Can the machine be supplied as a complete skid?
Yes. The system can include tricanter centrifuge, feed pump, heating tank, control cabinet, oil tank, water tank, and cake conveyor.
