The Model PP Sulzer Double Stage Salt Centrifuge is a perforated basket centrifuge known for its continuous and efficient operation. It is specifically designed for separating mixtures effectively.

The separation process begins by continuously and evenly feeding the mixture through the feeding pipe and distributor into the first stage basket. Under the influence of centrifugal force, the majority of the liquid component (mother-liquor) in the feed passes through the sieves and collects in the liquor-collecting casing. From there, it is discharged from the machine.

The first stage basket rotates and reciprocates, pushing the solid product cake that has formed into the second stage basket. In this stage, the cake experiences increased centrifugal force, allowing for better moisture removal and ensuring the desired humidity level of the cake.

The cake is then continuously discharged from the basket. If a high level of purity is required for the solid product, the centrifuge offers the option for effective washing. The washing agent and the mother-liquor can be discharged separately if necessary.
