How the Decanter Centrifuge Works

1. Conditioned Sludge Feeding

Screened and heated lubricant sludge enters the rotating bowl through a controlled feed pipe.

Agitation maintains a uniform feed and prevents solids settling.

2. Solids Sedimentation

Centrifugal force moves metal fines, carbon residues, rust, and dense impurities toward the bowl wall.

The solids form a concentrated outer layer.

3. Oil-Water Separation

The lighter oil phase remains closer to the bowl center.

The heavier water phase forms a separate outer liquid layer.

4. Continuous Solids Conveying

The screw conveyor transports settled solids toward the conical discharge end.

Concentrated sludge solids discharge continuously.

5. Three-Phase Discharge

Recovered oil and separated water leave through independent outlets.
