Description

Horizontal structure 3-phase liquid-liquid-solid centrifuges are commonly known as tricanters. These machines make use of the principle that the heavy liquid, light liquid, and solid phases have different densities and are insoluble in the mixed liquid. As a result, they have different sedimentation speeds in the centrifugal force field or gravity force field, which can be used to separate stratification or cause the solid particles in the liquid to deposit. Tricanters are widely used for separating fish oil, palm oil, kitchen waste oil, and other liquids across the world.

Separation principle

The decanter is powered by two motors. The main motor rotates the bowl and the differential mechanism housing via a belt, while the auxiliary motor rotates the input shaft of the differential mechanism via a belt pulley. This, in turn, drives the helical after speed adjustment. Consequently, the bowl and helical rotate in the same direction, but with different speeds due to the differential mechanism.
