Type 304L stainless steel is low carbon version of 304 alloy, it is also austenitic steel, the “L” stand for LOW carbon, the carbon content is max 0.035%, 304L exhibits excellent corrosion resistance thanks to the lower carbon content, and has good fabrication and outstanding formability characteristics.

ASTM A312 TP 304/304L stainless steel pipe is the most versatile and commonly used stainless steel on the market. These grades are austenitic chromium alloy, also known as "18/8" stainless steel, because the composition of steel is 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
