A solid solution alloy, Monel 400 is an alloy that exhibits superior resistance to the marine environment. This is an alloy that can only be strengthened by cold working. Cold-worked Alloy 400 tubing, produced to the ASTM B165 specification, is available in seamless or welded construction.
Nickel-based ASME SB 165 UNS N04400 exhibits a lower corrosion rate in fast-flowing brackish/saline water or seawater, as well as in steam at elevated temperatures. In the presence of caustic solutions, the resilience of a Monel pipe is amazing.
Additionally, exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance properties makes this alloy grade ideal for applications in various freshwater sources. Therefore, Monel 400 Pipe is used in chemical processes and marine environments.
