The TP904L grade is an austenitic stainless steel material with the addition of molybdenum which provides it an excellent resistance to the crevice corrosion and pitting by chlorides. The ASTM A312 TP904L Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe has very good resistance against reducing acids and the addition of copper gives it general corrosion resistance to various concentrations of the sulphuric acid. The high alloying of the material offers chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance. The low carbon content makes it sensitization resistance by welding and it thus prevents inter granular corrosion.
