Overview

There are various grades of stainless steel. They are classified into different grades, based on their properties. 254 SMO pipe is one such pipe that is considered to be a high austenitic grade. It is three times stronger than stainless steel 300 series. 254 SMO pipe is effective against pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking. 254 SMO pipe is known for its high ductility and good impact strength. It is also known as Molybdenum 6 due to the addition of trace amounts of molybdenum.
