What is a A182 F55 weldolet?
A weldolet is a forged, butt‑weld branch connection fitting designed to create a reinforced outlet from a main pipeline, complying with MSS SP‑97. It features a contoured body that matches the curvature of the run pipe, distributing stress evenly and enhancing structural integrity.
Made from A182 F55 (UNS S32760) super duplex stainless steel, it offers exceptional strength, high resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC), making it ideal for harsh environments like offshore oil and gas, seawater systems, sour service, and chemical processing.
Weldolets are welded directly to both the main pipe and branch pipe via beveled ends, providing a smooth, leak‑proof connection. They replace traditional tees and unreinforced saddles, offering better pressure rating and durability. Common sizes range from 1/2" to 36" for main pipes and 1/8" to 24" for branches.
