ASTM A182 is a standard for Forged Alloy Steel Pipe Flanges, Forged Fittings, Valves as well as parts. The components for A182 F317/F317L Material have been designed to be used for High Temperature applications. ASTM A182 F317 and F317L Flanges are a low carbon austenitic, stainless steel grade. The major non-ferrous materials used in F317 or F317L include chromium, nickel & molybdenum, etc..
The high levels of elements like chromium, nickel & molybdenum, assure that the F317 / F317L Stainless Steel Flanges have superior resistance to chloride pitting and general corrosion. The ASTM A182 F317, F317L Flanges have improved resistance relative to 316L, especially in those environments which contain strongly corrosive chemicals.
