ASTM A179 (SA 179) standard specification covers seamless cold drawn low-carbon steel tube, for tubular heat exchanger, condensers, and other similar heat transfer equipment.
ASTM A179 cold drawn seamless carbon steel tube is mainly used for low temperature heat exchangers and condensers. It has high thermal conductivity and good processing performance, and is widely used in the field of low temperature heat exchange. However, its limitation is that it has weak high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.
