Tubesheet of Heat Exchanger
A tube sheet is a component of a heat exchanger that acts as a divider between the shell side and the tube side of the exchanger. It is typically a thick plate with holes drilled or machined into it to accommodate the tubes. The tubes are then inserted into these holes and mechanically secured, creating a tight seal.The tube sheet is responsible for supporting the tubes and maintaining their position within the heat exchanger. It also enables the transfer of heat between the fluids on the shell side and the tube side. The shell side fluid flows across the outer surface of the tubes, while the tube side fluid flows inside the tubes, allowing heat to be exchanged through the tube walls.
