ASTM A276 TP316L Stainless Steel Round Bar Strength & Corrosion Resistant for Valves, Shafts, Fasteners, Marine
ASTM A276 TP316L is a specification for stainless steel round bars that are made from grade 316L stainless steel. This grade of stainless steel is a low carbon version of 316 stainless steel, which is highly corrosion resistant and has excellent mechanical properties.
The ASTM A276 specification covers hot-finished or cold-finished stainless steel bars in various shapes, including round bars. These bars are typically used in applications that require high strength, corrosion resistance, and good formability.
ASTM A276 TP316L round bars are commonly used in industries such as chemical processing, food processing, and marine applications. They are available in various sizes and lengths to suit different application requirements
ASTM A276 TP316L round bars are a versatile and reliable option for a wide range of applications that require high-quality stainless steel bars.
The chemical composition of grade Stainless Steel 316L Round Bar is outlined in the following table

Advantage:
- Corrosion Resistance: TP316L outperforms 304/304L in chloride-containing environments (e.g., seawater, chemical processing) due to its 2-3% Mo content.
- Weldability: Low carbon (≤0.03%) eliminates the need for post-weld annealing, reducing fabrication costs.
- Strength & Toughness: Maintains good mechanical properties from cryogenic temperatures up to ~870°C (1600°F).
- Non-magnetic: Essentially non-magnetic in the annealed condition (slightly magnetic after cold working).
Applications:
- Chemical & Petrochemical
- Marine & Offshore
- Oil & Gas
- General Industrial
