ASTM A213 Grade T11 Chrome Moly Alloy Steel Seamless Boiler Tube
ASTM A213 / ASME SA213 T11 Seamless Alloy Steel Tube Boiler Tube
ASTM A213 T11 tubes are primarily made from an alloy that includes chromium and molybdenum, which enhance the mechanical properties of the steel, including its strength and resistance to heat and corrosion. Specifically, T11 contains around 1% chromium and about 0.5% molybdenum, providing excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, making T11 a popular choice in industries such as power generation, petrochemical, and manufacturing.
Quality Control
- Visual inspection
- Dimensional checks
- Nondestructive testing (NDT) methods (Eddy Current Test, Hydrostatic Test , Ultrasonic Test)
- Mechanical property tests (tensile, yield strength, hardness)
Advantages: The primary advantages of using ASTM A213 T11 seamless tubes include:
- High-Temperature Performance: The composition allows for operation in environments exceeding 1000°F (538°C).
- Corrosion Resistance: While susceptible in acidic environments, T11 shows good resistance to oxidation, extending service life.
- Versatility: Suitable for a variety of applications across multiple industries.
- Durability: The lack of seams in the tube construction eliminates the risk of seam failures, enhancing reliability.
