T5 Alloy Steel
- T5 is a type of alloy steel, often referred to as 5% chromium steel. The general composition of T5 steel is:
- Chromium (Cr): 4.5-5.5%
- Molybdenum (Mo): 0.44-0.65%
- Carbon (C): 0.45% maximum
- Other elements may include silicon, manganese, and traces of sulfur and phosphorus.
Comparison with Other Grades:
SA213 T11: Similar to T5 but with slightly higher chromium content (1.00-1.50%) and lower molybdenum content (0.44-0.65%).
SA213 T22: Higher chromium (1.90-2.60%) and molybdenum (0.87-1.13%) content, offering better high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance.
SA213 T9: Higher chromium (8.00-10.00%) and molybdenum (0.90-1.10%) content, suitable for even more demanding high-temperature applications.
