ASTM A213 TP316L Stainless Steel Seamless Tube for Boiler and Heat Exchanger
ASTM A213 / ASME SA213 specification is for ferritic steel TP444, austenitic stainless steel TP304/L/H/N, TP310S/H, TP316L/H/Ti, TP321/H, TP347/H ... and alloy steel T5, T9, T11, T12, T22, T91, T92 ... Alloy 800/H tubing. Due to excellent resistance and superior properties, these tubes are suitable for power generation, petrochemical, and various industrial applications. The end user should choose a proper material according to the using environment, cost and fabrication.
Pickling and bright annealing are two different surface treatment processes for materials like the ASTM A213 TP316L seamless tube, and they have distinct effects on the properties of the material:

Pickling:
- Process: This involves treating the metal with acid to remove oxide scale, rust, and other impurities from the surface.
- Appearance: The finish is generally dull and may have a somewhat rough texture after pickling.
- Influence on Properties: Pickling primarily affects the surface condition by cleaning the metal. It can remove any existing oxidation and enhance the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel. However, it does not significantly alter the mechanical properties of the tube.

Bright Annealing:

Quenching Process
After solution annealing, the tube is usually quenched in water to rapidly cool it down. This is important to prevent carbide precipitation which can lead to decreased corrosion resistance.
