An AVF needle means "Arteriovenous Fistula Needle." AV Fistula needle tubes are specialized medical needle tubes that are used for hemodialysis to access an arteriovenous fistula or a graft, creating a connection between the artery and the vein. These AVF needle tubes make it easier to withdraw the blood from the patient’s body for filtration by a dialysis machine and then return the filtered blood to the patient's body. AVF needle tubes are usually made from SUS304 medical grade stainless steel material, which is a material known for its strength, durability and good corrosion resistance. The common gauges for AVF needle tubes are 15 - 17 Gauge for the arterial needle and 15 / 16G for the venous needle tubes. The needle tube lengths can range from 25mm to 90mm, which are typically longer than standard medical needle tubes in order to penetrate the arteriovenous fistula.
