Nipple-o-let (Nipolet) – A Forget Fitting

A Nipolet is a proprietary branch connection fitting manufactured by Forged Fittings, Inc.

(commonly referred to as "Forget"). It is used to create a branch connection from a main pipe without requiring a separate reinforcing pad or weldolet.

1. Design:

• A short nipple with a built-in reinforcement pad, welded directly onto the run pipe.
• Acts as an alternative to Weldolet, Sockolet, or Threadolet but with a threaded or buttweld branch.

2. Types:

• Threaded Nipolet (Thredolet-style): Has internal or external threads for the branch connection.
• Buttweld Nipolet: Allows a buttweld connection for the branch pipe.

3. Advantages:

•  Stronger than a simple nipple due to integral reinforcement.
•  Faster installation compared to traditional weld-on fittings.
•  Reduces weld inspections since it requires only one weld (to the run pipe).

4. Common Applications:

•  Used in high-pressure piping systems (oil & gas, petrochemical, power plants).
•  Ideal for small branch connections (typically NPS ½" to 2").
