20G 23.5MM Stainless Steel IV Cannula, SUS304 Tri-bevel Intravenous Needle Tube ISO7864
20G 23.5MM Stainless Steel IV Cannula, SUS304 Tri-bevel Intravenous Needle Tube ISO7864
A SUS304 Stainless Steel Tri-bevelled Intravenous Needle Tube (IV Cannula) is the core piercing component of an intravenous (IV) catheter system. It is a short, hollow metal tube made from medical-grade SUS304 stainless steel, sharpened to an ultra-fine point with three precisely ground facets (bevels). This stainless steel needle tube is inserted into a patient's vein, serving as a guide for the placement of a flexible plastic cannula. Once the plastic cannula is in the vein, the steel needle is withdrawn and discarded, leaving the soft catheter in place for fluid administration, medication, or blood sampling. YUHONG GROUP is professional in providing medical needle tubes with various sizes and different needle tips according to clients' requirements. Our common needle tubes' sizes range from 10G to 34G. As for wall thickness of needle tubes, we can provide with regular wall, thin wall, extra-thin wall, etc. If clients want to grind the needle tip by themselves, we can also provide medical grade stainless steel capillary tubes for them, which are manufactured based on ISO9626 international standard.
Why the needle tube is made by SUS304 raw material?
The use of SUS304 Stainless Steel is critical. It is an austenitic steel alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance (crucial for contact with blood and saline), high tensile strength, and good ductility. It is non-magnetic, biocompatible, and meets international standards for medical devices.
Key Features:
- Medical-Grade SUS304 Stainless Steel: Ensures biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength.
- Tri-Bevelled Tip: For smooth and precise venipuncture.
- Ultra-Sharp Point: Minimizes insertion force and tissue damage.
- Precision Grinding and Polishing: The needle lumen and exterior have a smooth, mirror-like finish to reduce friction and thrombogenicity.
- Good Rigidity: Provides the necessary structural strength to pierce the skin and vein wall without bending or buckling.
Regular Sizes:
| Gauge (G) | Nominal Outer Diameter (OD) | Nominal Inner Diameter (ID) | Typical Wall Thickness | Standard Needle Tube Length |
| 14G | 2.10 mm | 1.80 mm | 0.15 mm | 45 mm, 50 mm |
| 16G | 1.60 mm | 1.40 mm | 0.10 mm | 45 mm, 50 mm |
| 18G | 1.20 mm | 1.00 mm | 0.10 mm | 45 mm, 50 mm |
| 20G | 0.90 mm | 0.70 mm | 0.10 mm | 32 mm, 38 mm |
| 22G | 0.70 mm | 0.50 mm | 0.10 mm | 25 mm, 32 mm |
| 24G | 0.55 mm | 0.38 mm | 0.085 mm | 19 mm, 25 mm |
| 26G | 0.45 mm | 0.30 mm | 0.075 mm | 19 mm, 25 mm |
Injection And Insertion Areas Of IV Needles:
- Upper Extremities (The most common srea)
- Dorsal venous network of the hand (back of the hand)
- Cephalic vein (thumb side of forearm/wrist)
- Basilic vein (pinky side of forearm/wrist)
- Median antecubital vein (inner elbow - typically for short-term use or blood draws)
- Lower Extremities (Less common, used when upper extremities are unavailable)
- Saphenous vein (ankle area)
- Scalp Veins: Primarily in neonates and infants.
Applications:
- Medication Delivery: Antibiotics, analgesics, chemotherapy, anesthetics.
- Blood Product Transfusion: Packed red blood cells, platelets, plasma.
- Contrast Media Injection: For CT scans, and other imaging procedures.
- Blood Sampling: For drawing blood samples directly from the IV line upon placement.
