ASME SA269 TP316 Stainless Steel Seamless Bright Annealed Tubes For Beverage Industry
ASME SA269 TP316 Stainless Steel Seamless Bright Annealed Tubes For Beverage Industry
ASME SA269 TP316 Stainless Steel Seamless Bright Annealed Tubes are seamless, cold-finished tubes manufactured from grade 316 stainless steel. Unlike the more common TP304, TP316 contains 2-3% Molybdenum, which significantly enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride and marine environments. These stainless steel tubes are produced in accordance with the ASME SA269/ASTM A269 standard, which specifically governs seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing for general corrosive service and low-temperature applications. The Bright Annealed (BA) surface refers to a specific heat treatment performed in a controlled atmosphere (hydrogen or vacuum) to produce a clean, oxide-free, reflective surface finish without the need for pickling.
YUHONG GROUP has 35 years’ experience to manufacture ASTM A269/ASME SA269 TP316/316L/316Ti, TP304/304L/304H, TP317, TP317L, TP347, TP321, TP310S, etc. Stainless steel seamless/welded tubes. Our stainless steel tubes are widely used in heat exchangers, industrial fluid application, food processing plant, beverage industry, dairy industry, petrochemical industry, water treatment, and so on.

Different Surface Finish:
- Bright Annealed (BA): It is a smooth, shiny, reflective finish with a surface roughness (Ra) typically ranging from 0.4 µm to 0.8 µm. It is free of scale and oxidation.
- Pickled (AP): A dull, matte grey finish. After annealing, the tube is chemically treated (pickled) to remove scale. It is rougher than BA and not suitable for high-purity or aesthetic applications without further polishing.
- Mechanically Polished: Post-annealing polishing. This can range from 180-grit to 400-grit or higher (mirror finish). Used when an even higher surface finish (Ra < 0.4 µm) is required for ultra-clean applications.
- Mill Finish: As-drawn finish without bright annealing; usually dark with drawing lubricants or light oxide.
Key Advantages and Features:
- Superior Corrosion Resistance: The addition of Mo provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, especially in environments containing chlorides, and sulfuric.
- Aesthetic Finish: The bright annealed surface eliminates the need for post-manufacture polishing in many applications, offering a clean, metallic luster that is easy to clean and maintain.
- High Purity: The seamless construction eliminates the risk of crevice corrosion associated with welded seams. The BA process ensures a surface free of carbon contamination and scale, making it ideal for ultra-high-purity applications.
- Dimensional Accuracy: Cold drawing ensures tight tolerances, which is critical for heat exchanger tubes and instrumentation lines.
- Good Mechanical Properties at Elevated Temperatures
Different Applications:
- Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology: High-purity process lines, water-for-injection systems, clean steam lines, and fermentation loops where sanitary conditions and lack of bacterial adhesion are critical.
- Food & Dairy: Heat exchangers, milk processing lines, and brewing equipment where the smooth surface prevents product buildup and facilitates easy CIP sanitation.
- Chemical & Petrochemical: Instrumentation tubes for corrosive fluid transfer, heat exchanger tubes, and high-pressure chemical injection lines.
- Marine Engineering: Hydraulic lines, seawater cooling systems, and structural components in offshore platforms and shipbuilding due to resistance to chloride corrosion.
- Semiconductor & Electronics: Ultra-high-purity gas distribution systems where absolute cleanliness and inertness are required to prevent wafer contamination.
- Aerospace: Hydraulic lines and fuel systems requiring high strength, non-magnetic properties, and reliability under vibration.
- Power Generation: Nuclear reactor cooling systems, geothermal power plants, and solar thermal receivers where resistance to high-temperature oxidation and corrosive cooling media is essential.
