ASTM A335 / ASME SA335 P11 Seamless Alloy Steel Pipe For Pipeline Systems With High Temperature, High Pressure And Corrosive Media
ASTM A335 P11 is a mature, economical, and reliable medium-alloy steel seamless pipe widely used in high-temperature, high-pressure steam and process piping systems in power plant boilers, oil refineries, and petrochemical plants.
It fills the performance and cost gap between carbon steel (such as A106 Gr.B) and higher alloy materials (such as P22, P91, and stainless steel), and is one of the standard materials in pressure piping engineering worldwide.
Key Advantages of ASTM A335 P11 Seamless Alloy Steel Pipe:
Excellent High-Temperature Strength: Containing 0.5% molybdenum (Mo), it exhibits excellent creep resistance and stress fracture resistance in the 400–540°C range, far superior to ordinary carbon steel.
Good Oxidation and Steam Corrosion Resistance: 1.25% chromium enhances resistance to oxidation and steam corrosion at high temperatures, extending pipe service life.
Resistant to High-Temperature Hydrogen Corrosion: Suitable for hydrogen-containing environments, it can be safely used in high-pressure hydrogen-containing conditions at approximately 500–550°C.
High Cost-Effectiveness: Compared to high-chromium stainless steel or nickel-based alloys, P11 significantly reduces costs; compared to carbon steel, its performance at high temperatures is significantly improved, resulting in superior overall economic efficiency.
Suitable for Multiple Media: Can be used with steam, hot water, hydrogen, hydrocarbons, oils, and mildly corrosive chemicals, covering industries such as power generation, oil refining, petrochemicals, and chemicals.
