Product Description
ASTM A182 F316L Stainless Steel Flange Low Carbon Corrosion Resistant for Chemical Marine
ASTM A182 F316L flanges are austenitic stainless steel forged flanges manufactured according to ASTM A182/A182M standards, belonging to the American standard material standard for high-pressure forged flanges. This standard covers various grades including alloy materials, stainless steel, and duplex stainless steel, with F316L being one of the most widely used austenitic stainless steel grades.
As a low-carbon version of F316, F316L reduces the carbon content from 0.08% to below 0.030%. This design makes it less prone to sensitization after welding.
It is designed for environments in industries such as chemical engineering, marine engineering, and food processing that involve chloride ion corrosive media, require extensive welding, and demand resistance to intergranular corrosion.
| Chemical Composition | ||
| Element | Content Range (%) | Metallurgical Function |
| C (Carbon) | ≤ 0.030 | Critical feature – extra-low carbon design prevents welding sensitization |
| Mn (Manganese) | ≤ 2.00 | Deoxidation; improves hardenability |
| P (Phosphorus) | ≤ 0.045 | Cold brittleness control |
| S (Sulfur) | ≤ 0.030 | Hot brittleness control |
| Si (Silicon) | ≤ 1.00 | Oxidation resistance improvement |
| Cr (Chromium) | 16.0 – 18.0 | Improves oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance |
| Ni (Nickel) | 10.0 – 14.0 | Stabilizes austenitic structure |
| Mo (Molybdenum) | 2.0 – 3.0 | Improves pitting resistance and crevice corrosion resistance |
| N (Nitrogen) | ≤ 0.10 | Solid solution strengthening |
