ASTM A269 TP321 High Frequency Welded Spiral Finned Tubes for Heat Exchangers
High Frequency Welded Finned Tubes – ASTM A269 TP321 Stainless Steel Base Tube with Carbon Steel Fins
Product Introduction
Our High Frequency Welded Finned Tubes (HF welded finned tubes) are premium heat transfer components designed for demanding industrial applications. Manufactured using advanced high-frequency welding technology, these tubes feature an ASTM A269 TP321 stainless steel base tube combined with carbon steel fins. This combination delivers excellent corrosion resistance on the tube side and superior heat transfer performance on the fin side, making them ideal for harsh operating environments.
Product Material
- Base Tube Material: ASTM A269 TP321 / UNS S32100 Austenitic Stainless Steel
- Fin Material: High-Quality Carbon Steel (CS)
Tube Structure & Manufacturing Process
The finned tubes consist of three main elements:
- Base Tube — ASTM A269 TP321 seamless or welded stainless steel tube, providing excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance and strength.
- Fins — Continuous carbon steel strip helically wound around the base tube.
- Welding Process — High Frequency Welding (HF Welding), where the fin is continuously welded to the base tube using high-frequency current. This creates a strong, metallurgical bond with minimal heat-affected zone, ensuring high structural integrity and thermal efficiency.
The result is a robust spiral/helical welded finned tube with outstanding durability and heat dissipation performance.

| Fin Density | 1 – 8 fins/inch (FPI) | ±1% |
| Tube Length | Up to 24 meters | ±10 mm |
Performance Advantages
- Superior Heat Transfer: The high-frequency welded fins significantly increase the external surface area, improving heat exchange efficiency by 2–3 times compared to bare tubes.
- Strong Metallurgical Bond: HF welding ensures fins remain firmly attached even under high temperature, vibration, and thermal cycling.
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance: TP321 base tube offers outstanding resistance to intergranular corrosion and performs well in elevated temperatures up to 800°C.
- High Durability: Carbon steel fins provide cost-effective heat dissipation while the stainless base protects against corrosive media inside the tube.
- Energy Efficiency: Reduced fouling and improved airflow characteristics lead to lower operating costs.
