ASTM A213/ASME SA213 TP316L Stainless Steel U-Bend Tube is a seamless, austenitic stainless steel heat-exchanger/boiler tube manufactured to ASTM A213/A213M (or ASME SA213), grade TP316L (UNS S31603), and bent into a U shape. The U-bend tube’s configuration has two straight legs connected by a 180° bend, so both tube ends terminate at the same tube sheet. This allows free thermal expansion and is widely used in shell-and-tube heat exchangers, feedwater heaters, condensers, and similar equipment.
TP316L is the low-carbon variant of 316 molybdenum-bearing stainless steel. The “L” denotes ultra-low carbon content (max 0.035%), which effectively eliminates intergranular carbide precipitation and delivers superior resistance to welding-induced corrosion and sensitization . Different from ordinary straight stainless steel tubes, U bend tubes are specially designed for closed-loop heat exchange systems, realizing continuous fluid circulation without extra pipe fittings, reducing system leakage points and optimizing heat transfer efficiency. All finished products undergo mandatory non-destructive testing, hydrostatic testing and dimensional inspection to meet industrial heat exchanger and boiler operating requirements.
