Overview
A234 WPB steel fittings are fittings made of material ASTM A234 WPB, they are used in pressure piping systems for medium and high temperature service.ASTM A234 is a standard for fitting materials, it indicates the material properties of different types of carbon and alloy steels, WPB is a steel grade in this standard. W is for weldable, P is for pressure, and B is for minimum yield strength, such as ASTM A106 A53, Gr.B or API 5L Gr.B.
A234 WPB fittings are butt weld ends and are typically used for welding to steel pipe made of A106, A53, GR.B or API 5L GR.B. The regular products of WPB fittings are: crosses, elbows, caps, reducers and tees. A234 WPB fittings are available in ERW and seamless; seamless fittings are made of seamless steel pipe and ERW refers to those produced using ERW stainless steel pipe fittings.
