Overview
C12200 is a phosphorus deoxidized copper alloy, which belongs to metallic materials and has excellent properties. It is mainly used in fields such as gasoline or gas delivery pipes, drainage pipes, etc.
Good welding and cold bending performance, generally without a tendency towards "hydrogen sickness", can be processed and used in reducing atmospheres, but should not be processed or used in oxidizing atmospheres.
In terms of mechanical properties, the tensile strength σ b of C12200 phosphorus deoxidized copper is 215-275 MPa.In addition, C12200 copper alloy also has the characteristics of high-strength heat-resistant bronze, with stable mechanical properties at high temperatures (400 ℃), good anti friction properties, and excellent corrosion resistance in atmosphere, fresh water, and seawater.
Characteristics of C12200 Copper Alloy
C12200, also known as phosphorus-deoxidized copper, has several notable characteristics:
- 1. Composition: Primarily copper (Cu) with about 0.015% to 0.040% phosphorus (P).
- 2. Conductivity: Electrical Conductivity: Very high (approximately 100% IACS), making it ideal for electrical applications. Thermal Excellent thermal conductivity, suitable for heat exchangers.
- 3. Corrosion Resistance: Good resistance to corrosion, particularly in non-oxidizing environments, which enhances durability in plumbing and water systems.
- 4. Mechanical Properties: Tensile Strength: Strong enough to withstand various mechanical stresses. Ductility: Highly ductile, allowing for easy shaping and forming without breaking.
- 5. Formability: Excellent formability, enabling it to be easily drawn into wires or formed into seamless tubes.
- 6. Weldability: Good welding characteristics, though care should be taken to avoid excessive heat that can lead to oxidation.
- 7. Thermal Expansion: Moderate thermal expansion, which must be considered in applications involving temperature fluctuations.
