Overview

ASTM A335 P9 seamless pipe is a type of chromium-molybdenum alloy pipe. This material is used for high temperature and pressure applications. The thermal expansion of this material is quite low so that it does not lose its shape or form at high temperatures.ASME SA 335 P9 grade alloy steel tubing is mostly used in the power generation industry and the petrochemical industry.ASTM A335 P9 tubing standards and schedules vary depending on the needs of the application. In the composition of A335 P9 chromium pipe there is 9% chromium and 1% molybdenum. the P9 steel pipe material also contains manganese, silicon, carbon and phosphorus in its composition. The addition of these materials makes the material stronger, with higher yield and tensile strengths. Redox is also highly added due to the high chromium content. A335 p9 pipe has a high corrosion resistance due to the chromium content. As a result, a335 p9, has excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures. In addition to chromium, astm a335 p9 alloy steel tubing shows good corrosion resistance when coated externally with black paint or rust-proof oil. It can also be galvanised with zinc. Galvanising increases its resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
