Duplex stainless steel offers superior resistance to localized corrosion, including pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.The chemical composition of duplex stainless steels is designed to provide a balance of austenite and ferrite phases, enhancing their corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. It has higher yield strength compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels.
