The maximum carbon content of 304 stainless steel strip is 0.07%. It is a common "18/8 steel" standard in pans and utensils used for cooking. In the stainless steel family, Alloy 304 is the most flexible and most commonly used. Alloy 304 is well suited for a variety of domestic and commercial applications with excellent corrosion resistance and high ease of manufacture, excellent formability. In addition, austenitic stainless steels are considered the most weldable high alloy steels and can be welded by all procedures of fusion welding and resistance welding.
