Duplex Steel Sockolet A182 F60 / S32205 Forged Olet Fitting MSS SP-97
Overview
Branch Connection fittings (also known as Olets) are fittings which provide an outlet from a larger pipe to a smaller one (or one of the same size). The main pipe onto which the branch connection is welded is usually called the Run or Header size. The pipe to which the branch connection provides a channel is usually called the Branch or Outlet size. Duplex Steel 2205 Olets are available with us at industry leading rates in various modified forms. These 2205 Duplex Duplex Steel Outlets and other types are used in various industrial sectors like Chemical Industry, Oil Refineries, Construction & Engineering Industry, Nuclear Power Plant, PetroChemical Industry, Steel Manufacturing Plants, Paper Mills, Sugar Mills, Oil & Gas Industry
Key Features of a Sockolet:
- Socket Weld Connection: A Sockolet is specifically designed for socket weld connections. This means it fits into a pipe and is welded around the outside, creating a strong, leak-tight seal.
- Compact Design: Sockolets are designed for use in smaller branch connections, typically where a smaller pipe (e.g., a 1/2" or 3/4" branch) needs to be attached to a larger main pipe.
- Application: Ideal for situations where welding is preferred or required, and it offers a relatively simple method to create branch connections without the need for threaded fittings.
Advantages of A182 F60 Sockolet
-
High Strength: A182 F60 material offers a good balance between strength and ductility, making it suitable for high-pressure applications.
-
Temperature Resistance: F60 maintains its properties at higher temperatures, which is essential for applications in steam and high-temperature systems.
-
Versatility: The sockolet fitting allows for easy branching of piping systems with the ability to weld a smaller pipe (like 1/2" to 2" pipe) to a larger main pipeline.
-
Compact Design: The design of the sockolet allows it to be used in tight spaces, where traditional methods of branching off a pipe might be difficult to implement.

Application:
- Petrochemical Plants: For branch connections in pipelines carrying petroleum, natural gas, or chemicals at high pressures and temperatures.
- Power Plants: Especially in steam and high-temperature systems where robust and reliable fittings are required.
- Oil and Gas Industry: For offshore or onshore installations, particularly where high strength and heat resistance are required for branch connections to pipelines.
- Refining and Chemical Processing: In systems where high-temperature and medium-to-high pressure conditions are present, often involving the transfer of fluids under challenging conditions.
- Water Treatment: In applications involving high-pressure and high-temperature systems, such as in boilers, condensers, and steam systems.
