Through-Hole Reflow Soldering (THR) in RJ45 Connector Assembly:
Through-hole reflow soldering (THR) is a widely used process in modern circuit board manufacturing, especially for components that require high mechanical strength, such as RJ45 connectors. THR technology provides several advantages by inserting components into through-holes of PCB boards and fixing them using a reflow soldering process, making it increasingly popular in electronic manufacturing. Features of through-hole reflow soldering: Through-hole insertion can achieve tighter circuit connections, achieve higher density assembly, can reduce interference between lines, and have relatively low manufacturing costs.
During the assembly process of RJ45 connectors, through holes are designed to connect the pins of the connector to ensure the firmness of the connection. The specific steps include:
- PCB layout design: Design the hole positions corresponding to the RJ45 connector pins on the PCB board, and ensure that the size and layout of the holes match the size and position of the connector pins.
- Solder paste printing: Use a printer to print solder paste on the connector pad position of the PCB board. The solder paste is located around the through holes and on the surface mount pads of the connector.
- Component placement: The RJ45 connector is placed on the connector pad of the PCB board so that its pins pass through the holes of the PCB board.
- Through-hole soldering: The solder joints of the PCB and the connector are heated to a certain temperature in a reflow oven to melt the solder paste and form a connection.
- Cooling and inspection: After soldering is completed, the PCB and connector are cooled to room temperature and visually and/or automatically inspected to ensure soldering quality and connection performance.
