Rubbing Fastness Tester ,also as a kind of textile testing equipment,is used for testing the transference of color from the surface of one material to another by either wet or dry rubbing. Specimens are rubbed with dry, standard cotton cloth (Crocking cloth) and again, if applicable, with wet cloth. The staining of the crocking cloths is assessed with a Grey Scale

To determine color fastness of textile to dry or wet rubbing.

Test procedure
1. A coloured test specimen is clamped and is rubbed,under controlled conditions, against a white crocking cloth.
2. Colour transferred to the crocking cloth is assessed with a suitable Grey Scale.
