  A power transformer is a static electrical device. It utilizes the principle of electromagnetic induction to convert alternating current energy of one voltage and current into alternating current energy of another or several voltages and currents of the same frequency. It is mainly composed of an iron core, windings, oil tank, cooling device, insulating bushing, tap changer and other parts, and plays a key role in increasing or decreasing voltage, transmitting and distributing electrical energy in the power system.
   Power transformers in substations and distribution networks reduce high-voltage electrical energy to low-voltage electrical energy suitable for users, such as 380V/220V, to meet the electricity demands of different users including industrial, commercial and residential ones.
