Switch Mode Power ICs 2.5V To 5.5V, 2A, High EfficiencySynchronous Buck Converter
The SGM61020 is a high efficiency synchronous BuckDC/DC converter with 2A output current capability andadjustable output voltage. The input supply voltage is inthe range of 2.5V to 5.5V. Using adaptive off-time peakcurrent control, the efficiency of this device is higherthan 80% for loads over 1mA and reaches 95% in themoderate load ranges (5V to 3.3V).
This device operates with a quasi-fixed 1.5MHz pulsewidth modulation (PWM) mode for moderate or heavyloads. But at light loads, pulse skip modulation is usedfor power-save mode (PSM). The PSM operatingquiescent current is very low, typically 42μA, which iswell suitable for battery-powered applications toincrease standby time. Despite such low quiescentcurrent, the transient response to large load variationsis excellent. The device shutdown current is typically0.03μA.
The SGM61020 provides an adjustable output voltageby an external resistor divider. The device is capable forlow dropout operation with 100% duty cycle. Someother features include internal soft-start for limitingstartup inrush current, over-current and thermalshutdown protections, enable input and power goodoutput (for SGM61020P version only).
The SGM61020 is available in Green SOT-23-5 andSOT-563-6 packages.
