Silicon Carbide Abrasive Powder

Silicon carbide (SiC) is made from quartz sand and petroleum coke or coal tar, wood chips and other raw materials by smelting in high temperature electric resistance furnace . In the high technology non-oxide refractory raw materials , such as C, N, B ,ilicon carbide is the most widely used and one of the most economic material. It can be called corundum or refractory sand. It is brittle and sharp has electrical and heat conductivity in some degree.The abrasives made of it are suitable for working on cast iron,non-ferrous metal,rock, leather,rubber,etc.It is also broadly used as refractory material and metallurgical additive.

as an abrasive, it can be used as a grinding tool, such as grinding wheel,oilstone,grinding head, sand tile, etc. 2. As a metallurgical deoxidizer andexotic material. 3. High-purity single crystal, which can be used for manufacturing semiconductors and manufacturingsilicon carbide fiber. 4.It can be used as deoxidizer for steelmaking and modifier for cast iron structure, and as raw material for manufacturing silicon tetrachloride. 5.It can be used as high temperature indirect heating material.

Silicon Carbide Powder Properties

1) Silicon carbide (SiC) is also called moissanite, commonly known as carborundum. Made from quartz sand, petroleum coke (orcoal), wood sawdust as raw material through the resistance furnace and high temperature melting. 2) Silicon carbide is very hard, it has excellent thermal conductivity, is a semiconductor, high temperature resistant to oxidation. 3) Silicon carbide is one of the most widely used and economical ones.

Silicon Carbide Powder Advantage

 
The black silicon carbide containing SiC about 95%, mostly used in glass, ceramics, stone, refractory material, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The green silicon carbide containing SiC about 97% or above, good self-sharpenness, mostly used for processing hard alloy, titanium alloy and optical glass, also used for honing cylinder liners and grinding high-speed steel cutting tool.
