Ultrafiltration is a pressure-driven membrane separation technology widely used for separating, concentrating, and purifying macromolecular substances. Under pressure, aqueous solution flows through the membrane surface, allowing solvent (water) and small molecular solutes smaller than membrane pores to permeate through as purified filtrate, while larger solutes and solute groups are intercepted and discharged as concentrated solution.
