Background: Water permeability of garden fleece.
The water permeability depends on both the floor and the fleece.

Base: High density soil, clay soil, stone soil have very poor water permeability. Even a highly water-permeable fleece cannot conduct water faster on such floors. Check the soil before processing. If possible, loosen compressed floors.

Fleece: Normal thermal bonded spun fleece has a slow water permeability depending on the thickness of the material. With thinner material with a thickness of 50 g/m², the water is passed through quickly, with thicker fleece of  50 g/m², it takes much longer until the water has penetrated. Basically, each fleece should be intensively watered after laying to improve permeability.

A solution is the GardenMate Hydro garden fleece, which thanks to a technical innovation allow very fast water permeability even with thick material.

Background: UV-resistant.
UV resistance means the resistance of the material to ultraviolet light. A simple spun fleece made of polypropylene is generally not resistant to UV light. This means that the fleece is decomposed by the sun over time. GardenMate uses UV inhibitors to all its spunbonded fleece to protect the material from degradation by the sun. These UV inhibitors can stop the decomposition process but cannot completely stop it.

Therefore, it is important that you observe the application instructions when laying our fleece to ensure a long service life of the GardenMate garden fleece as a weed control.

In any case, check before purchase that the product contains high UV stabilisation.
