Cold Rolled Aisi 444 SUS444 B444Ti 00Cr18Mo2 Stainless Steel Strip Coil
SUS444 (00Cr18Mo2) is a ferritic stainless steel with ultra-low carbon and nitrogen content, containing 18% chromium and 2% molybdenum for high corrosion resistance. The yield strength of 444 is equivalent to 1.5 times that of carbon steel and 6 times that of fiberglass steel, offering outstanding advantages in shock resistance, snow resistance, wind pressure resistance, and impact resistance.
SUS444 ferritic stainless steel features high thermal conductivity (approximately 130% to 150% of Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steel), making it ideal for heat exchange applications. It has a small thermal expansion coefficient (only 60% to 70% of chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel), making it suitable for thermal expansion, contraction, and thermal cycle conditions.
This steel demonstrates good plasticity and toughness, making it suitable for drawing, rolling forming, and stamping manufacturing. Its corrosion resistance is particularly excellent, with better performance in high chloride media than ordinary ferritic and austenitic stainless steels, and it generally does not suffer from chloride stress corrosion cracking.
When titanium (Ti) and molybdenum (Mo) elements are added, resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is improved. The steel can be welded using standard stainless steel welding methods and is particularly suitable for food processing equipment, heat exchangers, water heater tanks, water storage tanks, and solar energy collection panels.
444 steel belongs to high alloy ferritic stainless steel. Compared with commonly used SUS430 steel:
- Chromium content is approximately 1.0% higher with added molybdenum (Mo), providing excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion
- Corrosion resistance in some applications even surpasses SUS304 and SUS316
- Addition of titanium (Ti), niobium (Nb), and zirconium (Zr) stabilized elements provides good intergranular corrosion resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance
- Old designation: 00CR18MO2; New designation: 019CR19MO2NBIÜ
- Uniform digital code: S11972 (GB/T 20878-2007)
This is the most cost-effective grade of steel, with 444 Stainless Steel Sheet prices lower compared to other stainless steel grades and metallic products in general. Low carbon versions are excellent for welding applications with less carbide precipitation and localized corrosion.
