Aisi 631 / 17-7PH is an austenitic-martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel developed on the basis of 18-8CrNi, also known as controlled phase transformation stainless steel. After solution treatment, it is an unstable austenite structure, which has good ductility and processability. After adjustment, the austenite precipitation and carbonization phenology components change, and then through martensitic transformation treatment, most of the structure is transformed into toughness. Better low-carbon tempered martensite, this state is the use state of steel, and has good mechanical properties at medium temperature. Corrosion resistance is better than general martensitic stainless steel.
Aisi 631 / 17-7PH alloy is characterized by heat treatment to obtain high hardness and high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, good corrosion resistance and small heat treatment deformation.
The formability and elasticity of the annealed 17-7PH are similar to those of 301.
Under the heat treatment conditions of TH1050 and RH950, the corrosion resistance of 631 is better than that of general hardenable stainless steel (such as 410, 420 and 431), but not as good as 304. After CH900 heat treatment, its corrosion resistance is similar to that of 304 in most environments.
Like 17-4PH (630), the recommended operating temperature of 631 is below 300°C. Its welding performance is weaker than 630.
