Grade 304 Stainless Steel Properties

Performance Characteristics
Corrosion Resistance
Excellent resistance in atmospheric environments and many corrosive media. Resistant to potable water with up to 200mg/L chlorides at ambient temperatures.
Heat Resistance
Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 870°C and continuous service to 925°C. Grade 304H provides higher strength for elevated temperature applications up to 800°C.
Welding & Machining
Excellent weldability by all standard fusion methods. "Ugima" improved machinability version available for higher machining rates and reduced tool wear.
