Grade 301 is a 17% Chromium / 7% Nickel austenitic stainless steel with excellent strength properties achieved through cold working. It offers good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and maintains an attractive bright surface finish.
Provides good oxidation resistance up to 1550°F and resists various corrosive media. Mechanical properties are obtained through cold working rather than heat treatment.
Non-magnetic in annealed condition, becomes magnetic when cold worked.
