34CrNiMo6 steel undergoes quenched and tempered treatment:
- Heat slowly to 850°C hardening temperature
- Soak at temperature and quench in oil
- Temper immediately upon reaching room temperature
- Standard tempering temperature: 600°C
Hot forming temperature range: 1100-900°C
Best performed in annealed or normalized and tempered condition using conventional methods.
Fusion or resistance welding possible with proper preheat and post-weld heat treatment procedures.
