Nitronic 50® (S20910/XM-19) stainless steel round bar offers superior strength and corrosion resistance, outperforming standard grades like 316, 316L, 317, and 317L. This austenitic alloy maintains low magnetic permeability and is suitable for demanding applications including medical implants.

Requires coated carbide tooling with slower speeds and higher rigidity due to high work hardening rate.
Can be formed using standard austenitic stainless steel methods. Forging temperature range: 1177-1204°C (2150-2200°F).
Compatible with traditional welding processes using Nitronic 50W (AWS E/ER209) filler metal.
Final annealing at 1065°C (1950°F) with water quenching. For highly corrosive environments, anneal at 1121°C (2050°F). Cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
