17-4PH Stainless Steel Seamless Tube Hollow Bar S17400 with 1100-1300 MPa Strength and 572°F Temperature Rating
17-4PH (Type 630/UNS S17400) is a chromium-copper precipitation hardening stainless steel that delivers exceptional strength up to 1300 MPa while maintaining corrosion resistance comparable to Alloy 304. This material maintains high strength properties up to 572°F (300°C) operating temperature.
- High yield strength: 1100-1300 MPa (160-190 ksi)
- Maximum service temperature: 572°F (300°C)
- Hardness maintained up to 300°C
- Optimized performance through heat treatment

17-4PH stainless steel offers superior corrosion resistance compared to standard hardenable stainless steels, performing equivalently to Alloy 304 in most environments. For chloride media applications, optimal tempering occurs at 1022°F (550°C), while H2S environments require 1094°F (590°C) tempering. Note: prolonged exposure to stagnant seawater may cause crevice or pitting corrosion.
