About NiCr60/15:

Chemical Composition: Nickel 60%, Chrome 15%
Electrical Resistivity: 1.12 ohm mm2/m
Max working temperature: 1150 C
Condition: Bright, Annealed, Soft

Uses of resistance wire nicr6015:

  • Heating elements: Widely used in various heating applications such as in toasters, electric kettles, space heaters, and hair dryers. It is wound in coils to a certain electrical resistance, and when current is passed through it, the Joule heating effect produces heat.
  • Industrial and hobby tools: Used in industrial and hobby hot-wire foam cutters.
  • Dental restorations: In some dental practices, nichrome wire is used in certain dental restorations (fillings).
  • Ceramics: As an internal support structure in ceramics to help some elements of clay sculptures hold their shape while being fired in a kiln.
  • Ignition systems: In the explosives and fireworks industry, it is used as a bridgewire in electric ignition systems, such as electric matches and model rocket igniters.

 

Properties of nicr6015 resistance wire:

  • High melting point: It has a relatively high melting point of about 1,400 °C (2,550 °F), which allows it to withstand high temperatures without easily melting.
  • Corrosion resistance: Nichrome wire is corrosion-resistant, which means it can be used in environments where other metals might corrode.
  • High electrical resistivity: It has a high electrical resistivity, which makes it suitable for use as a resistance wire. When an electric current passes through nichrome wire, it generates heat due to its resistance.
