1. Composition: It is a copper-nickel alloy with approximately 94% copper and 6% nickel.
2. Physical properties:
- Density: It has a density of about 8.9 g/cm³.
- Resistivity: The electrical resistivity at 20 °C is 0.1 Ω·mm²/m, which is relatively higher than that of pure copper, making it suitable for certain resistance applications.
- Melting point: The melting point is around 1095 °C.
- Coefficient of thermal expansion: From 20 °C to 400 °C, the coefficient of thermal expansion is 17.5 × 10⁻⁶ /K.
- Specific heat capacity: At 20 °C, the specific heat capacity is 0.380 J/gK
3. Mechanical properties:
- Strength: It has a yield strength of 110 MPa and a tensile strength of 250 MPa (for a 1.0 mm sample), showing relatively good mechanical strength.
- Elongation: The elongation is 25% (for a 1.0 mm sample), indicating a certain degree of ductility.
4. Other properties:
- Temperature resistance: It can be used at temperatures up to 220 °C and has good stability at high temperatures.
- Magnetic properties: It is non-magnetic.
- Corrosion resistance: It has good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere at 20 °C, but the corrosion resistance is relatively poor in some specific gas environments such as those containing sulfur.
