Tankii alloy Material Co.,Ltd mainly produces resistance wire including nicr alloy, fecral alloy, cuni alloy and thermocouple alloy wire.

NiCr6015 alloy wire is a kind of nickel-chromium alloy wire with the following characteristics.

Chemical Composition

  • It mainly consists of nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), and iron (Fe), along with small amounts of other elements such as carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), sulfur (S), and phosphorus (P). Typically, the nickel content is approximately 55%-61%, and the chromium content is about 15%-18%
There are many applications of NiCr6015 wire:

Applications:

  • Electrical and Electronic Field: Widely used in the manufacturing of electronic components such as resistors, potentiometers, and heating wires. For instance, it is used as the resistance wire in equipment like dynamic braking starting resistors, neutral grounding resistors, and resistor boxes.
  • Industrial Heating: Serves as heating elements in industrial furnaces and heating equipment. In industries such as metal processing, glass manufacturing, and ceramic firing, it provides high-temperature heat sources.
  • Mechanical Manufacturing: Used to produce mechanical parts that require high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength, such as bolts, nuts, shafts, and gears.
  • Aerospace: Applied in high-temperature components of aerospace engines, such as combustion chambers and turbines, as well as in spacecraft's structural parts and thermal protection systems, due to its ability to withstand extreme high temperatures and complex mechanical environments
  • Petrochemical Industry: Utilized in the manufacturing of components like heat exchangers, reactors, and pipelines in petrochemical equipment, capable of resisting the erosion of high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive media.

Nichrome wire has several advantages, including the following:

High Resistance

It has relatively high electrical resistance. This property makes it an ideal choice for use in heating elements. When an electric current passes through it, a significant amount of heat is generated due to the resistance, allowing it to effectively convert electrical energy into heat energy for applications like in electric heaters, toasters, and hair dryers.

Good Oxidation Resistance

Nichrome can withstand high temperatures without oxidizing or corroding easily. This enables it to maintain its integrity and functionality over long periods of use in hot environments. For example, in a heating coil that is repeatedly heated and cooled, it won't degrade quickly due to oxidation, ensuring a longer lifespan compared to some other materials that might oxidize at high temperatures.

High Melting Point

It has a relatively high melting point, which means it can endure extremely high temperatures without melting. This characteristic is crucial for applications where intense and prolonged heating is required, such as in industrial furnaces or some specialized laboratory heating equipment.

Good Mechanical Strength

Nichrome wire typically has good mechanical strength. It can withstand physical stress and handling without breaking easily. This is beneficial when it needs to be shaped or installed in various heating device configurations, as it can hold its form and continue to function properly under normal operating conditions and during any vibrations or movements that might occur.

Stable Electrical Properties

Its electrical resistance remains fairly stable over a wide range of temperatures. This stability allows for consistent and predictable performance in electrical heating applications. Manufacturers can rely on its consistent behavior to design heating elements that will provide reliable and uniform heat output over time.
