Product Description
The NiCr8020 alloy (material number 2.4869) is available in strips, sheets, tubes, and wires for furnace construction components and heating conductors. This nickel-chromium heating conductor alloy is designed for operating temperatures up to 1150°C and often includes rare earth additives for enhanced oxidation resistance, particularly in applications with frequent switching operations or wide temperature variations.
Material Properties
The alloy exhibits:
- High resistance to atmospheric corrosion at 20°C
- Excellent resistance to oxygen-containing gases and nitrogen-containing low-oxygen gases
- High carbonization resistance
- Low resistance to oxidizing and reducing sulfur-containing gases
