The Global Positioning System (GPS) consists of the constellations of between 24 to 32 satellites orbiting the earth at an altitude of approximately 20,000 kilometers. These satellites transmit precise signals to a GPS receiver, more commonly known as a GPS tracker. The GPS tracker locates four or more satellites and calculates the distances to each satellite. By knowing those distances, it calculates its own position based on trilateration. The GPS tracker then sends the coordinates of its position to our server through a GSM network. Our advanced software maps the coordinates so that end users can log in to our server and see the exact locations of their assets.
